Governor-Elect Hassan Announces Transition Co-Chairs

Sgambati and O'Kane to Lead Innovate NH Outreach Efforts; Support Efforts to Develop Balanced Budget

CONCORD - Governor-Elect Maggie Hassan announced today that former State Senator Kathleen Sgambati and former Resources and Economic Development Commissioner Sean O'Kane will serve as co-chairs of her Gubernatorial Transition team.

Sgambati and O'Kane will lead efforts to reach out to people across New Hampshire on Hassan's "Innovate NH" jobs plan and support her efforts to develop a fiscally responsible balanced budget. Hassan is asking Sgambati and O'Kane to lead efforts to seek input from businesses and citizens across the state on ensuring an innovative and growing New Hampshire economy.

"To build a stronger, more innovative New Hampshire where our businesses can grow, flourish and create good jobs, we need to bring people together to address our challenges and move forward," said Governor-Elect Hassan. "Kathy Sgambati and Sean O'Kane are two highly knowledgeable and dedicated public servants who have worked for years to build consensus on our most pressing issues, and I am proud to have them serve as co-chairs of my transition team."

"Governor-Elect Hassan's innovation plan and fiscally responsible approach to balancing our budget will help keep our state moving forward, and it is an honor to support her work to put those plans into action," said Sgambati.

"New Hampshire's businesses are ready to create jobs, and Governor-Elect Hassan's focus on innovation and building a stronger workforce will help our businesses succeed," said O'Kane. "I am honored to serve as a transition co-chair, and I look forward to being a part of the Governor-Elect's efforts to bring everyone to the table to solve problems through realistic and sustainable solutions."

As Governor, Maggie Hassan will work with members of both parties to develop a fiscally responsible balanced budget that protects New Hampshire's priorities without an income or sales tax. She will work to implement her "Innovate NH" jobs plan, which focuses on building the best workforce in the country, providing tax credits to businesses, and giving businesses technical assistance to help them create jobs. And Hassan will reach out to legislators and citizens across the states to listen to their ideas for how to keep New Hampshire moving forward.
