Rochester, NH – Today, Congresswoman-Elect Shea-Porter’s office announced that she has been appointed once again to the House Armed Services Committee in the 113th Congress. This appointment will be the Congresswoman’s third term on the Armed Services Committee, and she will retain her seniority.
Congresswoman Shea-Porter released the following statement. “This is a challenging time for our nation’s military, as we work to adapt to new threats and challenges around the globe, and to deal with difficult budget realities here at home. We must provide every necessary resource to service members, their families, and our veterans. Their sacrifice has made America great, and it will truly be a privilege to continue to serve them on this Committee.”
Congresswoman Shea-Porter will also resume work with the New Hampshire and Maine delegations to ensure that the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard remains a vital component of our nation’s Defense infrastructure.
