CONCORD, NH – On Thursday, March 15, 2012, starting at 9:45 a.m., Congressman Charles F. Bass (NH-02) will tour the Community Health and Nutrition Services in Concord and then later meet with members of the Healthcare Leadership Council in Portsmouth.
Members of the media are invited to attend Bass’ events on March 15:
9:45 a.m.: Tour Community Health and Nutrition Services in Concord and meet with staff members to discuss the programs available to low-income families and the elderly in the Concord area. Community Health and Nutrition Services is located at 2 Industrial Park Drive in Concord.
3:00 p.m.: Meet with members of the Healthcare Leadership Council to discuss the new health care law, Medicare, and Bass’ legislation to repeal the regulatory burdens on the approval of Humanitarian Use Devices, which are innovative medical devices developed to treat rare diseases. After the meeting, Bass and members of the Council will tour Medtronic Advanced Energy, the host for Thursday’s meeting, and meet with Medtronic employees. The Healthcare Leadership Council is a coalition of chief executives from all disciplines within the American health care system to develop policies, plans, and programs to achieve their goal of affordable, high-quality care accessible to all Americans. The Council will meet at Medtronic Advanced Energy, located at 180 International Drive in Portsmouth.
