ICYMI - US Rep Bass: "Compromise is Not a Capitulation of Principle"

WASHINGTON – In a speech to his colleagues on the House floor last night, Congressman Charles F. Bass (NH-02) urged support of a bipartisan alternative budget plan that will reduce the deficit by more than $4 trillion over the next 10 years by cutting spending and generating revenue through closing tax loopholes.

“The American people have heard the debate on both sides, and they are crying for solutions, not squabbling, not posturing, nor policy brinksmanship.  We all have principles.  Compromise is not a capitulation of principle.  It never has been.  All of the great policy accomplishments in our nation’s history have resulted from the willingness of men and women of principle to attack and resolve crises together through negotiation and yes, compromise.” – Congressman Charles Bass
