US Rep Bass to Address New England Council, Visit Velcro USA to Discuss Energy Efficiency Legislation

Monday, April 2, 2012, starting at 8:00 a.m.

BEDFORD, NH – On Monday, April 2, 2012, starting at 8:00 a.m., Congressman Charles F. Bass (NH-02) will address members of the New England Council and later visit Velcro USA in Manchester to discuss his energy efficiency legislation, the Smart Energy Act, and see firsthand the innovative combined heat and power technology being used by the company.

Members of the media are invited to attend Bass’ events on April 2nd:

8:00 a.m.: Address members of the New England Council at a Congressional Roundtable event and give an update on his work in New Hampshire and Washington.  The roundtable will be held at the Bedford Village Inn, located at 2 Olde Bedford Way in Bedford.

10:30 a.m.: Visit Velcro USA to discuss energy efficiency legislation and see firsthand the company’s use of combined heat and power (CHP) technology to fuel its facility.  CHP is a key tenet of Bass’ legislation, which would establish a strategic plan to double the production of electricity production by 2020 through the use of CHP and waste heat recovery.  Velcro USA designs and manufactures fastening innovations for the industrial, consumer, military, automotive, construction, and personal care markets.  Velcro USA is located at 406 Brown Avenue in Manchester.
