Manufacturing Summit and Women’s Business Roundtable keep focus on New Hampshire jobs
(Washington – April 3, 2012) Representative Frank Guinta (R, NH-01) is hosting two important events next week as part of his ongoing “Getting Granite Staters Back to Work” jobs initiative.
A special Manufacturing Summit will be held in Portsmouth. It will be the first of three summits to be held around the First Congressional District. Representative Guinta will be listening as manufacturers, business leaders and economic development officials detail what steps are needed to promote and maintain manufacturing jobs in New Hampshire over the coming decade. Information gathered during all three summits will be used to guide Rep. Guinta’s effort to develop a plan for assisting job creation and retention in this sector of New Hampshire’s economy. The summit starts at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 11th at Great Bay Community College in Portsmouth.
Representative Guinta’s attention will keep the spotlight shining on jobs the next day when he hosts a Women’s Business Roundtable in Laconia. Women from a large cross-section of the business and professional world will be on hand to share their thoughts, ideas and concerns for ways to encourage small businesses to grow and expand. The Roundtable will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 12th at Lakes Region Community College in Laconia, in the Conference Room.
“When it comes to growing small businesses and expanding payrolls in New Hampshire, everyone has a role to play,” Guinta explained. “It’s important to sit down with people who work in different segments of our economy, who have different needs and who look at it from different perspectives. I need to hear their input as we all work for increased employment and greater prosperity. We need more New Hampshire thinking in Washington, and less Washington thinking in New Hampshire. The Manufacturer’s Summit and the Women’s Business Roundtable are opportunities for me to receive valuable input for multiple sources.”
Both events are open to the news media.
