AFP - Prosperity Alert: April 2012

RightOnline Conference - June 15th and 16th - Las Vegas, NV

Americans for Prosperity Foundation, AFP's sister organization, is pleased to announce that the annual RightOnline Conference will be returning to Las Vegas on June 15th and 16th. RightOnline will bring together influential new media experts, conservative organizations, and citizen activists to provide the tools and training to more effectively impact public policy via the internet and technology. RightOnline was the brainchild of Erik Telford, who was AFP Foundation's first Director of Membership and Online Strategy. AFP Foundation has continued to pour resources into RightOnline, making it the leading online activism training conference for right-of-center activists. Erik is now with the Franklin Center for Government and Public Integrity, which will be joining RightOnline as a premier-level sponsor.

Each year, RightOnline has gone head-to-head with the leftist Netroots Nation Conference, and this year will be no different with RightOnline taking place one week after Netroots Nation gathers in Providence, RI. AFP Foundation will be joined by influential author and political commentator Michelle Malkin, and many others.

Take Action

Tell Congress what you think they should cut from the budget!

Chairman Ryan's budget passed the House this year and promised $15 billion in discretionary spending cuts. Americans for Prosperity wants to hold the House accountable for that goal. We are crafting a series of 12 memos (one for each Appropriations bill), and we're asking for your input. Simply visit our Facebook page at, and vote for the cuts you think should be made. We'll send the most popular options to Congress as our official recommendations. Click here to vote now! Be sure to "Like" AFP if you have not done so already!

Hands Off My Health Care Rally Wrap-Up

Over 4,000 activists joined Americans for Prosperity and our 20+ coalition groups for the Hands Off My Health Care Rally on March 27th. We gathered across the street from the U.S. Supreme Court, where arguments were being heard regarding the constitutionality of certain elements of the unpopular ObamaCare law. We sent an overwhelmingly strong message to the Court and all of Washington: this government takeover of our health care is unconstitutional and must be overturned!

Activist of the Month - Peggy Spencer

Peggy Spencer was frustrated with government over-reaching and corruption for many years before she decided to attend her first Tea Party rally. She believed that one person couldn't make a difference. In 2009, the President's health care takeover was the last straw, and she attended a rally protesting the law. There, she realized she was far from alone, and she's been active ever since.

Now, whenever there's an event sponsored by AFP, she's there. From our November is Coming efforts to Hands Off My Health Care Tour, Peggy volunteers wherever she can. Last month, she even drove from Florida to Washington, D.C., to attend AFP's Hands Off My Health Care Rally. When AFP sponsored a breakfast at CPAC in Orlando, Peggy jumped at the opportunity to assist. Her willingness to help stems from selfish reasons, according to Peggy. She says that she, like all Americans, benefits directly from AFP's efforts, so she likes to give back. And to all those activists out there who think, as Peggy once did, that one activist can't make a difference, she says think again, and that "each person has something valuable to add [to the movement]."

Thank you Peggy, for all your efforts, and congratulations on being named AFP's Activist of the Month!
