Hassan Campaign Announces Students for Maggie Steering Committee

MANCHESTER, NH – Maggie Hassan for Governor today announced the Students for Maggie Steering Committee.  The group is made up of student leaders from high schools, colleges and universities across New Hampshire who are working to elect Maggie Hassan New Hampshire’s next governor.  The campaign will announce more student support in the future.

“I’m thrilled to have such a great group of energetic students supporting my campaign for governor,” said Hassan.  “Every day we are building momentum to win in the fall so that the next generation of Granite Staters will have a secure and better future.”

“Over the past two years I have watched as the radical Republican legislature led by Speaker Bill O'Brien passed a raft of troubling legislation, including a terrible budget that made deep cuts to our university system,” said Theo Groh, Saint Anselm ‘14, Vice President of NH Young Democrats. “That is why I firmly believe that we need a strong Democrat the corner office to continue Governor Lynch's excellent work. New Hampshire can't afford the damage that a Bill O'Brien-Ovide Lamontagne alliance would do to our state. That is why I am supporting Maggie Hassan for governor. She has a proven record of getting things done in Concord.”

“I support Maggie Hassan for a number of reasons but mainly because of the importance the she has placed on education in the past and the promise she has made to continue to work toward increasing educational opportunity in New Hampshire once she becomes governor,” said Maria Carrasquillo, UNH ‘14, President of UNH College Democrats. “Maggie understands the need to strengthen New Hampshire’s education system in order to build a strong workforce and acknowledges that the future of New Hampshire lies in places like the dorm rooms of Durham, the cafeterias of Keene and the classrooms of Plymouth. As a university student, I trust that Maggie has my interests in mind and will work effortlessly as governor to ensure that every child in New Hampshire receives a quality and affordable education.”
