MANCHESTER, NH – Democratic candidate for Governor Maggie Hassan has earned the support of the International Union of Painters and Allied Trades Council #35. To date, Hassan has earned the only labor endorsements in the campaign for governor. The Carpenters Local 118, Iron Workers Local 7 and United Food and Commercial Workers Locals 1445 and 791 have previously endorsed Hassan’s campaign.
"Painters District Council #35 is proud to endorse Maggie Hassan for Governor,” said John Laughlin, political director for the Brentwood, NH-based union. "Maggie earned our members' endorsement because she understands that jobs are a priority. She has a proven record in the State Senate of standing up for working families so they have the opportunity to succeed – and she’ll do the same as New Hampshire’s next Governor. Maggie is running a strong campaign with incredible grassroots energy.
The Painters' Union is excited to be a part of her effort and will do everything we can do to help her win in November.”
“I am honored to receive the support from IUPAT,” said Hassan. “Every day we are adding new support to our campaign so we can move New Hampshire forward – by helping create the best workforce, the best schools and make New Hampshire the national leader in innovation.”
Last week the Hassan campaign announced the support of the United Food and Commercial Workers Locals 1445 and 791, former State Senators Mary Louise Hancock of Concord and Mark Hounsell of Conway and released the Students for Maggie Steering Committee
