Manchester, NH – The City of Manchester will kick-off its 2nd Annual Manchester Small Business Week (MSBW) presented by Citizens Bank on Monday, May 21st with a Small Business Forum & Luncheon at the Radisson Hotel. The forum is sponsored by Comcast Spotlight and will focus on the challenges of financing a small business in New Hampshire and how to overcome those challenges. Senator Kelly Ayotte will open the forum and discuss a Crowd Funding bill she is sponsoring in Congress and how she is helping small businesses as a member of the Committee on Small Business & Entrepreneurship in the Senate. Amy Cortese, New York Times Journalist and Author of Locavesting, will deliver the keynote address. The forum will also feature a small business panel moderated by Fred Kocher, host/producer of New Hampshire Business on WMUR.
“Manchester is home to thousands of small businesses which play an instrumental role in creating jobs and growing the economy of the city and the state as a whole. For the second year in a row, I am proud to declare the week of May 21st- May 25th as Manchester Small Business Week”, stated Mayor Ted Gatsas. The goal of MSBW is to provide small business owners and individuals who are thinking about starting a business with a series of free and lost-cost programs that are targeted at providing them with the information and resources they need to start or grow their business. Programs during the week will focus on a range of issues such as financing, legal considerations, exporting, workforce development, marketing, as well as provide small business owners with excellent networking opportunities. “Manchester is a small business-friendly city that provides all the amenities of a larger city but at a fraction of the cost. MSBW is an opportunity for the City to showcase the big contributions small businesses make to our local economy and provide them with a wide range of programs to help their business grow and thrive”, stated Chris Wellington of the Manchester Economic Development Office.
MSBW is made possible by our presenting sponsor Citizens Bank and supporting sponsors, Comcast Business Class, Devine Millimet, Anagnost Companies, Fairpoint Communications, Millennium Marketing, UNH-Manchester, MVP Healthcare, Service Credit Union, Printer’s Square, New Hampshire Business Magazine and our partnering business resource organizations.
