Shea-Porter statement on Public Service Recognition Week

New Hampshire- Today, former Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, who is running for Congress in the First Congressional District, released the following statement about Public Service Recognition Week.

This is Public Service Recognition Week--a great time to look around and see how many ways those who work in local, county, state, and federal government make our lives better. They are patrolling our streets and borders, showing up at fires, accident scenes or other emergencies, teaching our kids, taking care of our parents in nursing homes and our kids in schools, keeping our streets clean, helping our veterans, conducting scientific research, protecting our environment, saving our wildlife, working on food and other consumer safety issues, serving in the transportation sector, and helping us in so many other ways. Public service is a noble profession, and I thank them all!"
