U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta statement on May's 8.2% unemployment rate

(Washington – June 1, 2012)    Rep. Frank Guinta (NH-01) released the following statement regarding the just-released 8.2% unemployment rate for May:

“The 69,000 new jobs added last month just weren’t enough to grow our economy at the pace needed to fully recover.  Without fiscal predictability from Washington, job creators are staying on the sidelines, refusing to hire more employees and put more people back to work. Looming tax increases and an oppressive regulatory environment are keeping small business owners stuck on the sidelines. More than 1,100 days have passed since the Senate last passed a federal budget: how many more dismal monthly unemployment rates must we endure before one is passed?  I remain committed to restoring responsibility to our nation’s finances, and to personally helping get more Granite Staters back to work with events like the Women’s Job Fair I’m hosting later this month.”
