In declaring his candidacy, Mr. Tierney said, "I am proud to announce my candidacy for Executive Council, District 2. We need a conservative councilor who will make sure that tax dollars are prudently spent and not wasted. The Executive Council plays a critical role in our state's government: to check the power and limit the spending of the state. If elected to the Council, I will act as a check on excessive state spending and make sure that the limited resources are efficiently and effectively utilized."
