US Rep Bass to Tour Norris Cotton Cancer Center in Nashua, Address American Legion Convention

Friday, June 22, 2012, starting at 10:00 a.m.

NASHUA, NH – On Friday, June 22, 2012, starting at 10:00 a.m., Congressman Charles F. Bass (NH-02) will tour the new Norris Cotton Cancer Center in Nashua and address the New Hampshire American Legion at their annual convention in Manchester.

Members of the media are invited to attend Bass’ events on Friday:

10:00 a.m.: Tour the new Norris Cotton Cancer Center and meet with executives from Dartmouth-Hitchcock and the American Cancer Society to discuss the role that cancer research plays in saving lives.  Bass will be joined by other members of the New Hampshire Congressional Delegation, Mark Israel, MD, the Director of the Norris Cotton Cancer Center, Chris Hanson, president of the American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network, and Gerald Gehr, MD, a clinician and researcher at NCCC and Dartmouth-Hitchcock Nashua for the briefing and tour. 

The Norris Cotton Cancer Center is located at 2300 Southwood Drive in Nashua (off exit 8 on the Everett Turnpike).

Bass is the lead Republican sponsor of bipartisan legislation, the Accelerating the End of Breast Cancer Act, to streamline breast cancer research and ensure the most promising projects receive funding.  The legislation now has more than 220 cosponsors.

11:20 a.m.: Address the American Legion Department of New Hampshire at their annual convention.  The convention will take place at the Radisson Hotel, located at 700 Elm Street in Manchester.
