Prescott Park adds Lucinda Williams to schedule

Grammy Award Winner Lucinda Williams Added to Festival Schedule

In Support of Her Latest Release, "Blessed," Williams makes debut appearance in Prescott Park

PORTSMOUTH, N.H. - The Prescott Park Arts Festival has announced the addition of American roots rock icon and Grammy Award winner, Lucinda Williams to its summer concert schedule as part of the River House Restaurant Concert Series on Sunday, July 29th at 7pm. The concert series already includes acts like Ani DiFranco, Shawn Colvin, The Cowboy Junkies, Suzanne Vega, Iris DeMent and more.

Hailed by Time Magazine as "America's Best Songwriter," Lucinda Williams' blend of whiskey soaked Americana tunes, paired with her rousing gravelly-tinged vocals, are the prefect recipe for a stellar musical performance that will not only get audience member's heads and bodies bopping about; it will also serve as the perfect ambient backdrop to get the Piscataqua churning with glee.
"We are offering a lot of exciting shows this summer, but this one definitely takes the cake," says Ben Anderson, executive director of Prescott Park Arts Festival. "I can't think of a better way to spend a summer evening. This show will be nothing short of riveting."
Held each Wednesday night in Prescott Park, the concert series looks to build upon the record attendance experienced last summer, featuring a wide array of International and Grammy Award winning artists. The concert series will feature acts like Shawn Colvin, the Carolina Chocolate Drops, Ani DiFranco, Suzanne Vega, Slaid Cleaves, Peter Yarrow (of Peter, Paul, and Mary), the Cowboy Junkies, and Iris Dement.
The River House Restaurant Concert Series is part of the Prescott Park Arts Festival's 38th season that also features the musical Willy Wonka, presented by the Common Man Restaurant Family, running every Thursday through Sunday June 29 through August 26, 2012.
