Wayne Semprini Cites New and Sustainable Solutions for Economy as Reason
MANCHESTER, NH--Today, Kevin Smith, Republican candidate for governor, announced that former New Hampshire Republican Party Chairman Wayne Semprini has endorsed his candidacy. Smith is running in the Republican Primary for Governor. Semprini served as Chairman of the NH GOP in 2006 and 2007 and since has maintained his involvement within Republican politics in New Hampshire, including as State Chair of the Rudy Giuliani 2008 Presidential Campaign.
"I am supporting Kevin Smith for Governor because I believe we need a leader who will find real solutions to the economic problems we are facing," Semprini said. "Kevin has a detailed plan to reduce burdensome taxes on small businesses, generate private sector job growth, and reverse the declining labor force by providing greater opportunities for young workers. Kevin gives the Republican Party its best opportunity to win in November, and I'm committed to working hard to ensure that he is elected this year."
Smith is the only candidate for governor – Republican or Democrat – that has released a specific plan to strengthen New Hampshire's economy, spur new job creation, and improve the state's fiscal condition. Smith's New Hampshire's Future Is Now plan calls for lowering business taxes, health care costs, and electric rates throughout the state to create a stronger and more appealing economic environment to help existing employers, as well as attract new employers and jobs to New Hampshire.
"I'm honored to have Chairman Semprini's support. As a small businessman and someone who has long been involved with his community and state, I know he will provide me with great insight and guidance throughout this process," Smith said. "I believe we have a real opportunity to revive our business climate and make New Hampshire an economic leader nationally. Our state has one of the highest tax burdens on employers in the country, and if we continue down this path, we will drive even more companies and jobs out of state. As governor, I will reverse this trend and make New Hampshire the best state in which to live and do business. Wayne Semprini shares this concern, and with his support and help, we will spread our message across the state and let let people and our small businesses know that relief is on they way."
