U.S. Rep. Frank Guinta votes for cost of living increase for disabled military veterans

“…increasing their monthly benefit check is the least a grateful nation can do…

(WASHINGTON – July 9, 2012)    Representative Frank Guinta (R, NH-01) today voted in support of H.R 4114, the Veterans' Compensation Cost-of-Living Adjustment Act.  It would provide a 1.9% increase in benefits starting on December 1, 2012.  The bill passed the House of Representatives, and now goes to the Senate for consideration.

Guinta said following the vote:  “Nearly 128,000 veterans call New Hampshire home, one of the largest per capita populations of any state.  These men and women answered when our country called.  Many of them made a special sacrifice, and they live with the results of that sacrifice every day.  This increase is roughly the same as Social Security recipients receive.  Given all our disabled veterans sacrificed for us, increasing their monthly benefit check is the least a grateful nation can do to show its appreciation.”
