Jackie Cilley thanks the Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire for the endorsement

(Manchester) – Democratic gubernatorial candidate Jackie Cilley was proud to accept the endorsement of the Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire today at their bi-monthly meeting at Manchester's Puritan Backroom in Manchester. The Professional Fire Fighters of New Hampshire includes 42 local chapters and represents over 2,000 active and retired firefighters and paramedics from fire districts across the state.

"New Hampshire stands for a strong middle class. That is the real New Hampshire advantage – Jackie Cilley typifies that advantage and the American dream," said PFFNH President Dave Lang. "Jackie comes from a working class family. She was a single mom who worked her way up and was the first in her family to get a college degree."

Lang added, addressing the crowd of fire fighters packing the room, "I've talked to every one of you here and I've heard the same thing again and again: 'Jackie gets it, Jackie understands what we need, and Jackie will support us.'"

Thanking Lang for a 'Firefighters for Cilley' tee-shirt, Jackie observed that the color scheme was familiar.

"My husband will love this – it's the same colors as the 1st Air Cavalry he served with in Viet Nam."

"Last weekend, I saw a presidential candidate's $50,000 a head fundraiser, but I was reminded of a dinner I'd had a couple weeks ago," said Cilley, a Berlin native. "It was in a building with a cement floor and was pretty good – lasagna, garlic bread – but I wouldn't trade that meal for any $50,000 fundraiser because I was eating with Berlin firefighters."

"I can't begin to tell you how proud I am of this endorsement because you're all leaders and you all go out and serve your fellow citizens every single day," said Cilley.  We have a state to make right, We have to make sure we offer a quality education, provide quality infrastructure, a clean environment, and that everyone feels safe in New Hampshire."

"Finally, your families participate in this economy and you and your families to contribute to rebuilding this economy. And you deserve the recognition and respect that your service merits. You are on the front lines and will always have a place at the table "

The last two months have seen the Cilley campaign building support at an ever-increasing rate. A standing ovation speech to the New Hampshire Democratic Convention and strong debate performances have left her tied with leading Democratic and Republican candidates. With this endorsement, the New England Police Benevolent Association joins the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Local No. 3,  the New Hampshire Association of Letter Carriers, the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Locals 490 and 2320 and the 11,000 members of the New Hampshire State Employees Association/SEIU Local 1984.
