Shea-Porter Statement on VP Pick Paul Ryan
Sunday, August 12, 2012 at 07:25AM New Hampshire- Governor Romney has chosen Congressman Paul Ryan to be his vice presidential candidate. Paul Ryan is the architect of the disastrous Ryan budget plan to privatize Medicare, give tax cuts to the very rich, and hurt the middle class.
Former Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter released the following statement.
“While voting for all of the Bush era big spending, Congressman Paul Ryan tried to privatize Social Security. This Congress, he proposed to privatize Medicare, give huge tax cuts to the wealthiest, and to cut programs such as Meals on Wheels and student aid. Congressman Frank Guinta voted along with him on all the drastic budget cuts that targeted the middle class, and New Hampshire voters will reject their agenda in November.”
