(Manchester) Widely respected attorney and lead  counsel in the historic Claremont School District v Governor of New Hampshire case, Andru Volinsky today announced that he is endorsing Jackie Cilley's candidacy for governor. Volinsky, is currently managing attorney in New Hampshire for the 100 lawyer regional law firm Bernstein, Shur.  Andy has added his voice to growing list of Granite Staters supporting the former state senator and representative's run.

"When the legislature was paralyzed by ideology and pledge politics and wouldn't solve the crisis in state spending for education, it took people like Andy to make the state confront it,"  said Jackie Cilley, adding "No one wants to make laws by litigating, but without the willingness of the Claremont School district and the ability of people like Andy, it's hard to imagine that the legislature would have ever taken on the task of defining what an education in New Hampshire truly costs and how to pay for it."

"I am confident that Jackie Cilley will come into office with her sleeves rolled up and raring to go  We must work creatively and effectively to protect New Hampshire’s advantages, one of which is an educated population," Volinsky said. "The incoming governor must be a committed problem solver. We can’t hope to find solutions by supporting constitutional amendments or taking pledges to be ineffective. I trust Jackie to act tirelessly in New Hampshire’s best interests."

For over two decades, Volinsky has served as lead counsel in the Claremont cases, the successful constitutional challenge to New Hampshire's inadequate funding of public education. He is also a very experienced trial lawyer, recently serving as lead special counsel for the New Hampshire Bureau of Securities Regulation in its administrative prosecution of the Local Government Center.  That proceeding resulted in an Order requiring the return of over $50 million to local communities which will serve to reduce local property taxes and support the employment of teachers, firefighters and other public employees.
