NHDP releases new web video about Ovide's efforts to take New Hampshire backward - not forward - on education
CONCORD - Become a time traveler on Ovide Lamontagne's Wayback Machine, and see how Lamontagne would take New Hampshire backward on education in the newest video from the New Hampshire Democratic Party.
"Ovide Lamontagne's dated and out-of-touch views on education will take New Hampshire back in time and leave the middle class behind," said Raymond Buckley, chair of the New Hampshire Democratic Party. "These policies are bad for students and bad for communities, which will see an increase in property taxes because of Ovide's extreme agenda."
As chairman of the State Board of Education, Lamontagne rejected federal education funding and has said that as Governor he'd "do it again" - raising property taxes and hurting schools. He has supported teaching creationism in schools, abolishing the U.S. Department of Education and repealing an 1877 constitutional amendment that bans taxpayer dollars from funding religious schools.
"Sometimes it is hard to tell if Ovide is running for Governor of New Hampshire or auditioning for Hot Tub Time Machine 2," said Buckley.
