Jobs Numbers Out Today Show Unemployment Increased, Rate Above 8 Percent for Three Years

Concord, NH- New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Wayne MacDonald released the following statement after today’s July jobs report showed another increase in the national unemployment rate, which has been above 8 percent for more than three years.  The July report from the U.S. Department of Labor shows the national unemployment rate increased to 8.3 percent.

“Even as New Hampshire's economy outperforms the national average thanks to strong Republican leadership, it's clear that President Obama's policies are not working.  After record spending, including the trillion-dollar stimulus bill, massive debts to China and tax hikes to pay bigger government, it’s time to redouble our efforts to make Obama a one term President and elect Governor Mitt Romney to the White House.

“The President has repeatedly demonstrated a lack of respect to job creators and the troubles they face in this tough economy.  His ‘You didn’t build that’ attitude shows just how out-of-touch he really is from the hard work and personal sacrifice that goes into building a business and creating jobs. The middle class deserves better, as 23 million Americans are looking for full time work.”
