MANCHESTER – Today, Kevin Smith, Republican candidate for Governor, announced the support of three more House Committee Chairs, bringing the total number of House Chairmen to endorse Smith to seven.
Endorsing Smith's campaign for governor today was Rep. Ed Moran, Chairman of the Children and Family Law Committee, Rep. Carol McGuire, Chairman of Executive Departments and Administration, and Rep. Al Baldasaro, Chairman of the State-Federal Relations and Veterans Affairs Committee.
These Representatives join four other Committee Chairmen that previously endorsed Smith, including: Rep. Stepanek (Ways and Means), Rep. Weyler (Finance), Rep. Reagan (Health and Human Services) and Rep. Packard (Transportation).
Representative Al Baldasaro (R-Londonderry) offered the following statement in his endorsement of Smith:
"Kevin Smith has had years of experience working with New Hampshire's veterans and their families. Kevin is the only candidate in the race for governor prepared to work with these brave men and women of New Hampshire and bring real leadership to the challenges they face. I'm confident that veterans will have an outspoken advocate in the Governor's office in Kevin Smith."
Commenting on the endorsements was Kevin Smith, "I am honored to continue to gain the support of the Committee Chairmen who head up some of the most important committees in the House. I think their support points to the fact that no candidate in this race is more prepared to begin governing on day one than I am. I've enjoyed working (and serving) with many of these members over the years and I look forward to working with them again as Governor, as we seek to improve our state's economic climate."
