Guinta For Congress - Flash Back From Shea-Porter On Stimulus

“I’ve voted for some things that have driven (the debt) up, because of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.” – Former Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter, Jan. 2010

(Manchester – September 13, 2012) In 2010, former Congresswoman Shea-Porter admitted that her vote for the stimulus significantly drove up our nation’s debt. It currently stands above $16 trillion. In the video below, she said “I’ve voted for some things that have driven (the debt) up, because of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act.” – Congresswoman Carol Shea-Porter.

Years later, with the unemployment rate still above 8%, it is even more evident - the over 800 billion dollar stimulus (paid for by taxpayers) failed to create the jobs it promised.

Derek Dufresne, Spokesman for Frank Guinta for Congress released the following statement:

“Granite Staters know all too well that former Congresswoman Shea-Porter’s support of a wasteful stimulus puts us further in debt and never yielded us the middle-class jobs it promised. Sadly, Carol Shea-Porter isn’t one of the vast majorities of New Hampshire voters who recognizes this.

“Just as Carol said, her vote in 2009 drove up our nation’s debt. The question voters are asking in 2012 - why does she still stand by her vote now that we know it never created the jobs she said it would?”
