Mary Ann Esposito and Billy Costa to Appear at this year’s New England Chili Classic
Manchester, NH – The City of Manchester and the New Hampshire Lodging & Restaurant Association are pleased to announce that celebrity chef Mary Ann Esposito of “Ciao Italia” and Billy Costa, well-known for his “TV Diner” show, will appear at The New England Chili Classic presented by Market Basket. The New England Chili Classic will be held on Saturday and Sunday, October 13-14, 2012 from Noon to 6pm at Veterans Park on Elm Street in downtown Manchester, NH. Mary Ann will appear at the event on Saturday from 12:00-6:00pm and Billy will emcee the Sunday awards presentation. Both Billy and Mary Ann will also appear on stage and be available during the event for public meet and greet sessions.
The New England Chili Classic features chili sampling from some of the most well known restaurants and chefs in area including the Common Man Restaurant, Margarita’s, Hanover Street Chophouse, Dos Amigo’s, Buckley’s Great Steaks, Mountain View Grand, Woodstock Inn, British Beer Company and many more who will be competing for the title of Best Red Chili, Best Vegetarian Chili, Most Creative Chili, People’s Choice and the overall New England Chili Classic Champion. More than $10,000 in prize money will be awarded. The event also includes live music and entertainment on the AutoFair Main Stage, a Beer Garden sponsored by Amoskeag Beverages, a Kid’s Zone sponsored by Anthem BlueCrossBlueShield and a Street Fair. The Manchester Monarchs, New Hampshire Fishercats and W.I.L.D Center of New England will be providing games and activities in the Anthem Kid’s Zone and main stage entertainment includes the Evan Goodrow Band, Mama Kicks and food eating contests.
Advance tickets can be purchased online at www.NewEnglandChiliClassic.com for just $5 each. Tickets at the event are $7 each. Each ticket holder will receive five sampling tickets and a $10 discount card to T-Bones/Cactus Jack’s. Public sampling hours for the New England Chili Classic are 1:00-4:00pm each day. Attendees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite chili and the restaurant that receives the most votes will be named this year’s People Choice Champion sponsored by Bank of New Hampshire.
