Manchester, NH - Ovide Lamontagne, Republican candidate for Governor, released the following statement on the Department of Justice's pre-clearence of the recently enacted Voter ID law:
"Today’s approval of our recently enacted Voter ID law clears the way for basic protections of our electoral process to be in place for next week's Primaries and for the General Election in November. Pre-clearance by the Department of Justice should ease the fears of those who argue these much needed reforms will hinder access to the ballot.
"The elections this fall are vitally important to the future of our state and the nation as a whole. Citizens should have every confidence that their vote is protected and that only those citizens who are eligible to vote are doing so. This laws brings us closer to that fundamental goal."
