NH DHHS Releases Phase II Study on Medicaid Expansion 1/11/13
Thursday, January 10, 2013 at 05:15PM Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services
(DHHS) will hold a briefing on Friday, January 11, 2013 at 1 PM to release
the second part of a two-phase study of New Hampshire’s option to expand
its Medicaid program under the Affordable Care Act (ACA). The US Supreme
Court ruled last June that the ACA’s proposed Medicaid expansion is
optional for states. DHHS has worked with a national health policy and
human services consulting firm, the Lewin Group, to determine what the pros
and cons are for expanding New Hampshire’s Medicaid program. Lewin
presented the first phase of the analysis in November and will release the
final phase of the study on Friday. Lewin researchers will be on hand to
explain the analysis, as well as to answer questions.
