Concord, NH- New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Jennifer Horn released the following statement in response to HB370, which would repeal education tax credit.

"Education choice is about parents being able to find the best possible educational opportunities for their children, regardless of family income. The School Choice Bill passed last year leveled the playing field, offering even our poorest students the opportunity to access the educational environment that is best for them.

"The effort to repeal School Choice displays an elitist and callous disregard for the most vulnerable students in our community.

"The funds that support Education Opportunity Tax Credit Scholarships are private funds, not taxpayer dollars. Over $150,000 has been raised to support these scholarships and over 250 students have applied to the program. It is obvious that citizens of New Hampshire are supportive of this program.

"Rather than continue supporting a status quo that fails too many students, we ask Gov. Hassan to make it clear today that should HB370 make it to her desk she will show support for all New Hampshire students by vetoing it."
