NH DHHS Releases Additional Analysis of Medicaid Expansion under the ACA
Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 07:47AM Concord, NH - The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services
(DHHS) is releasing additional analysis on Medicaid Expansion under the
Affordable Care Act. This report will include how Medicaid Expansion would
impact New Hampshire’s State budget, New Hampshire’s economy, and impact to
the insurance industry as well as providers. The briefing will be held
Friday at 1 PM, in the DHHS Brown Building, 129 Pleasant Street, Concord,
NH.
This report by the Lewin Group is the second in a two phase analysis of the
State’s option to expand its Medicaid program. Based on the US Supreme
Court’s ruling on the Affordable Care Act, states have the option of
expanding Medicaid coverage to individuals with incomes under 138-percent
of the federal poverty level. Friday’s briefing will review findings from
Phase I of the report, which provided data on the number of residents who
would be eligible for coverage under the expansion and associated costs to
the state.
Lewin Group researchers will be at the briefing to explain their methods
and findings as well as to answer questions.
