NH DHHS Announces Emergency Volunteer Training Conference

Flu Vaccination Offered to Attendees as Part of Exercise During Conference

Concord, NH – The New Hampshire Department of Health and Human Services

(DHHS) Emergency Services Unit (ESU) is announcing the 2013 NH Integrated

Emergency Volunteer Training Conference. The conference, in its 4th year,

will have more than 20 training sessions for the more than 250 people

expected to attend. As part of this year’s event, anyone attending can

receive their seasonal flu vaccine as part of an exercise being conducted

in conjunction with the conference. Vaccinations will take place in a

Point of Dispensing (POD), so attendees will also be able to see what a POD

looks like and learn the various roles and stations of a vaccination POD.

Volunteers from organizations including the American Red Cross, Community

Emergency Response Teams, NH Disaster Animal Response Team, NH Disaster

Behavioral Health Response Team, NH Emergency System for Advance

Registration of Volunteer Health Professionals, NH Metropolitan Medical

Response System, and the Medical Reserve Corps have been invited to attend.

The day-long conference is being held Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 8:30 –

4:00 at the Grappone Conference Center in Concord, NH.
