Democratic Senator Admits:
"We All Knew" Obama’s Promise Wasn’t True
Despite the blatantly political effort by Democrat Jeanne Shaheen to save her job by distancing herself from ObamaCare, it's become abundantly clear that she knew full well that some Americans would lose health care plans that they liked, yet repeatedly made dishonest promises otherwise.
When asked whether President Obama mislead Democrats, Senator Kirsten Gillibrand (D-NY) disclosed: "He should have just been more specific...No, we all knew."
The Democratic Senator from New York is a close colleague of Jeanne Shaheen's and admitted a truth that Shaheen so far has repeatedly refused to acknowledge: The fact that millions of people are losing health insurance that they like, forcing them into the ObamaCare exchanges, is an intended consequence of the law.
In fact, three years ago, Shaheen joined Senate Democrats to unanimously support the very ObamaCare rule that's responsible for the health insurance cancellations that have caused so much consternation over the last month. Even though 22,000 Granite Staters are losing their health insurance, Jeanne Shaheen is doing her best to hide the fact that she is directly to blame for the disaster. Senator Gillibrand's admonition makes clear that:
- Jeanne Shaheen was knowingly dishonest about people keeping their care yet repeatedly promised otherwise, or,
- Shaheen is so incompetent that she didn't comprehend the legislation that she championed.
"Jeanne Shaheen joined Barack Obama in repeatedly promising her constituents something that she knew was blatantly false," said NRSC Press Secretary Brook Hougesen. "How can any Granite Staters trust anything Jeanne Shaheen says about ObamaCare today after she's been caught deceiving them about it repeatedly over the last four years? Granite Staters are looking for competence and credibility in the Senate and Jeanne Shaheen has a crisis of both."

Senate Democrats Voted Unanimously To Support The ObamaCare Rule That's Responsible For The Cancellation Of People's Health Insurance. "In September 2010, Senate Republicans brought a resolution to the floor to block implementation of the grandfather rule, warning that it would result in canceled policies and violate President Barack Obama’s promise that people could keep their insurance if they liked it....On a party line vote, Democrats killed the resolution, which could come back to haunt vulnerable Democrats up for re-election this year....The rule set up the criteria for what insurance plans would be grandfathered, or exempted, from the new Obamacare requirements."
