Stopping Medicaid Expansion in New Hampshire

As a result of strong leadership from fiscal conservatives like State Sen. Andy Sanborn, State Sen. Russell Prescott and State Sen. Sharon Carson, Medicaid expansion was successfully tabled in the New Hampshire State Senate on Thursday afternoon.

By voting against the State Senate's proposed plan, we, like many in the Granite State, believe that the three aforementioned State Senators were taking a strong, principled position against a policy that would likely lead to a regressive sales or income tax in New Hampshire.

Later in the evening, in a vote of 13-11, the State Senate voted down the liberal State House's version of Medicaid expansion.

The battle is far from over and much work will need to be done in the coming months as the issue will be brought up again, however, now is the time to take a moment and thank Granite Staters like you. It is because of your hard-work that we were successful on Thursday.

Thank You, State Senator Andy Sanborn

If you are a frequent reader of our weekly e-newsletters, you are aware that during the past few months, many up in Concord were struggling with a vote to expand Medicaid in New Hampshire as a result of Obamacare. During that period, one particular fiscal conservative, State Sen. Andy Sanborn, lead the charge against expanding the program, which could very likely be a road to an income or a sales tax.

In addition to holding those accountable for not supporting policies that will strengthen our economy, we always like to recognize those who go above and beyond and support policy decisions that will be best for our state.

We would like to thank State Sen. Andy Sanborn for his steadfast strength and willingness to stand up for our values. We are also asking like-minded Granite Staters to contact State Sen. Sanborn, thank him, and tell him to continue fighting for a stronger New Hampshire.

Please join us in recognizing what leadership is, as State Sen. Sanborn has made us proud. You can reach State Sen. Andy Sanborn at 603-682-1165.

We would be remised if we did not also thank State Sen. Russell Prescott and State Sen. Sharon Carson for joining State Sen. Sanborn in voting to table Medicaid expansion on Thursday in the New Hampshire State Senate. Granite Staters appreciate their principled votes.

Stop hiding from Obamacare

As Obamacare collapses, Granite Staters are rightfully frustrated at Sen. Jeanne Shaheen, Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (NH-01) and Rep. Annie Kuster (NH-02) for refusing to hold public Town Hall meetings. We know that their refusal to hold Town Hall meetings is a direct reflection of their hope to protect their own political careers as the law they support falls apart during its implementation, however that is no excuse for hiding from your constituents.

Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire is calling on Granite Staters to contact their elected representatives' offices. Ask them why they will not hold open, public, Town Hall meetings with New Hampshire residents to discuss Obamacare. Then, email us back and let us know what they had to say.
