NHDP Statement on the Democratic Special Election Victory in Nashua Ward 8

Concord, N.H - New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley released the following statement after tonight's special election in Nashua Ward 8.  It is the fourth special election New Hampshire Democrats won this year.  Democrat Latha Manigpudi defeated former House Republican majority leader with 59% of the vote to 41%.

"Latha Mangipudi's massive victory tonight is more than a victory for just the people of Nashua, it is one for the entire state. Latha's victory is yet another example of New Hampshire voters' rejection of the reckless NHGOP Tea Party ideology.  It is clear that twelve months later the Republican State Committee continues to be just as out of touch with traditional New Hampshire values as they were last fall when voters turned out to elect Democrats in across the state.  The people of Nashua sent a clear message that they want responsible, commonsense representatives working for them in Concord.

"I want to congratulate Representative-elect Mangipudi on her victory tonight, and I look forward to seeing her sworn in at the State House very soon."
