Londonderry Mead Maker Continues Triple Digit Growth, Now in New York

New York, NY Jan 31st, 2013 – A new moon is rising in the Big Apple. Moonlight Meadery LLC and brand agent St. Killian are proud to announce Union Beer as distributing agent in New York, effective as of December 20th 2012. “The welcome addition of Moonlight Meadery is a portfolio highlight for St Killian.  It satisfies a need for sophisticated drinkers seeking diversity for their palate.” says Phil Clarke, St.Killian.

“Our meads are a perfect fit for the Big Apple”, smiles Michael Fairbrother, founder and mead maker. “Kurt’s Apple Pie will blow adult beverage consumers away with the complexity of apple cider, Madagascar bourbon vanilla beans and Vietnamese Cinnamon. Some people will think, Apple Pie as a wine? Try it… you’ll love it!” Fairbrother oversees all production and leads the success of this small business with his entrepreneurial spirit and driving passion to bring creative, bold and unique high quality meads to the mainstream market. Tasting opportunities will be held at Top Hops, 94 Orchard St, NY Friday 8th February at 6.30pm – 8.30 pm.

Moonlight Meadery continues triple digit growth by expanding into the New York market introducing an initial core offering of 3 additional skus of their current 66 registered varieties, Desire: flagship with blueberry, black currant and black cherry; Sensual: traditional, nothing but wildflower honey and Wild: a dry blueberry. “Craft beers and other craft liquids are the new stars of our portfolio. Moonlight Meadery will add yet another layer of diversity to our portfolio as we strive to satisfy the demand for choice, high quality, artisanal craft brews” says Kevin Mueller from Union Beer.

Excitement surrounding the rediscovery of mankind’s oldest fermented beverage is a major comeback for this long lost category of fermented beverages… The company’s slogan, “Romance by the glass…” connects the theory of the origins of the term “honeymoon”, said to come from the tradition of giving a married couple enough mead to last through the first moon cycle of marriage to promote happiness and fertility. The company sweetens interest with romantic product names like Desire, Stiletto, and Wild with a touch of humor for a spicy series named Scorn and Fury.  Moonlight meads appeal to a wide target market, with an emphasis on women, long overlooked by the growing specialty beverage industry as well as catering to the evolution of choice demands of the craft brew and homebrew community.

About Moonlight Meadery:   Moonlight Meadery started commercial production in May 2010. Michael Fairbrother realized a vision to bring creative meads to the adult beverage industry with its increasing appetite for fine flavor profiles, by introducing a broad selection of choice meads from dry to dessert style.
