NHDP Chairman Ray Buckley's Statement on GOP Hypocrisy - Medicaid Edition

Concord, NH - New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement in response to the New Hampshire Republicans hypocrisy regarding Medicaid and CHINS.

"Today, Republicans once again proved that they will go to any lengths to push an ideological agenda that is bad for all of New Hampshire's citizens. After slashing funding for the Children in Need of Services (CHINS) by record levels in the last biennium, they today falsely claimed that by expanding Medicaid in New Hampshire it would somehow diminish funding for the same program," said Buckley.

"New Hampshire Republicans continue to stand against the health of our families and the well being of our economy in order to please their Tea Party backers - even when Republican governors across the country have embraced Medicaid expansion. For state Republicans to invoke the CHINS program, a critical service that they themselves cut, is the height of hypocrisy."

"Medicaid expansion is a critical opportunity to help more hard working families in NH afford health coverage with the federal government picking up nearly the entire cost. Not to mention the economic boost the $2.5 billion in federal funds would mean for our state."

"At some point it would be in their own best interests to wake up, realize that they lost the election, and start working to improve the lives of Granite Staters," said Buckley.
