Concord, NH- Former New Hampshire State Senator and 2nd District resident Gary Lambert today called on Congresswoman Annie Kuster to release her 2010-2012 tax returns in order to shed light on the unanswered questions surrounding her history of delinquent taxes:

"Congresswoman Kuster’s inability to explain why she was delinquent on more than $40,000 in property taxes is extremely troubling and raises serious questions that must be addressed immediately. The people of the Second District have a right to know why their elected representative in Washington deliberately refused to pay her fair share in taxes until the media caught her red-handed.

“Congresswoman Kuster must be upfront and honest with her constituents and offer a personal and detailed explanation about why she repeatedly missed tax payments despite a reported net worth of almost $2 million. She must also release her state and federal tax returns for the years that she failed to meet her tax obligations in order to prove to the Second District that she has nothing to hide.

“By releasing her 2010 and 2011 tax returns, and pledging to release her 2012 returns once they are prepared, Congresswoman Kuster can begin to regain the trust and confidence of her constituents that has been lost as a result of this embarrassing incident. If she continues to refuse to openly and transparently address her history of tax delinquency, she will raise even more questions that will further damage her credibility.”
