Massachusetts-based American Ambulance Service of New England will open its first New Hampshire operation on Route 108 in Somersworth on March 1.But don’t be surprised if you recognize the familiar faces staffing and managing the new ambulances and wheelchair vans.
Paul Robidas, a life-long Somersworth resident, is general manager of the new venture and brings with him over 30 years of local emergency medical services experience with him.
“I am very excited to be given the opportunity to bring a new service to the same community where I was raised and build this the right way from the ground up,” said Robidas. Our goal is simply to provide world class care and responsiveness to our patients and customers every single day.”
Several of Robidas’ staff members will be joining him from their former employer, American Medical Response.“We’re bringing the best of the best with us,” notes Robidas. “From ‘Day 1’, we will have area expertise and facility experience in every ambulance and answering every phone call.”
In the coming weeks, Robidas and his staff will be introducing his new service to area hospitals, skilled nursing facilities, dialysis centers, urgent care centers, hospice, and home-care organizations as well as the cities and towns that use private ambulance services for their 9-1-1 responses. These include Somersworth, Berwick, Eliot and Kittery.
