SNHU - Tory C. Marandos Entrepreneural Challenge

Grand Prize of $5000 with a runner-up prize of $2000.

NOTE: The business owner does not have to be a woman.

The Center for Women’s Business Advancement at Southern New Hampshire University is honored to administer the Tory C. Marandos Entrepreneurial Challenge.  This business plan competition is open to all active businesses and potential startup businesses in New Hampshire, with less than three years in business.

 If you are interested in participating, a two-page concept paper needs to be electronically submitted no later than Friday, March 15, 2013 at 11:59 p.m. to The top five finalists will present their final business plan to a panel of judges during the day on June 1st.   Please note since this is a competition adherence to contest rules is vital.  Contest rules, are included at the bottom of this page, including entry requirements; format for concept paper and business plan; requirements for semi-finalists; requirements for finalists; and disclaimer. 

 This business plan competition is in celebration of the late entrepreneur, Tory C. Marandos.  According to his family, friends and co-workers, Tory was an innovative man who cared deeply for his family and friends.  His parents Cosmos and Lynda Marandos were joined by his sister, Tara Marandos and other family and friends to honor Tory’s giving spirit by generously creating the Tory C. Marandos Foundation to support this annual Entrepreneurship Challenge.  

The second place prize is generously funded by the family of Jacques Thibodeau in his loving.

 Important Dates for the Tory C. Marandos Entrepreneurial Challenge:

March 1st – Competition begins.

March 15th  – Deadline for two-page Concept Paper electronically submitted to by 11:59 PM EST.

April 5th  – Ten semi-finalists are announced. 

April 20th  - Mandatory business plan training for semi-finalists: 9AM-12PM.

May 10th - Business Plan submission deadline to by 11:59 PM EST

May 20th  – Five finalists announced. 

June 1 – Finalists present their business plan to judges during the day.  Award ceremony to feature the top five finalists and announce the first and second place winners will occur in the evening.
