NHDP Chair Ray Buckley's Statement on Democrats' Victory in Tonight's Special Election

Concord, NH - New Hampshire Democratic Party Chair Ray Buckley issued the following statement on Democratic candidate Bill O'Neil's victory in the Hillsborough District 9 special election.

"Despite heavy spending, and misleading mailings by outside interest groups, Manchester's voters soundly rejected the Republican agenda of attacking unions, women, students and seniors, in favor of a Democratic candidate who is going to Concord to work with Governor Hassan to help build a more innovative economy for New Hampshire."

"Bill O'Neil's victory tonight is yet another example of New Hampshire voters' rejection of the Republican Party and its Tea Party platform," said Buckley. "Just as in November, when voters turned out to elect Democrats in across the state, voters in Manchester have sent clear message that they want a responsible, moderate Democrat in Concord."

"I want to congratulate Representative-elect O'Neil on his victory tonight, and I look forward to seeing him sworn in at the State House soon.
