NHDP - Right-to-Know Requests to Councilor Sununu and Attorney General's Office

Concord, NH - Dan McKenna, Legal Counsel of the New Hampshire Democratic Party, today filed right-to-know requests with Attorney General Michael Delaney and Executive Councilor Chris Sununu regarding the investigation into Councilor Sununu's alleged inappropriate communicates with Circuit Judge Michael Sullivan.

            Re:       Communication with Judge Michael Sullivan


Councilor Sununu:


Pursuant to RSA 91-A, I hereby request a copy of any and all documents concerning your attempts to influence Judge Michael Sullivan on or about January 10, 2013.  Specifically, I am requesting all correspondences and documents related to your communication with Judge Sullivan, whether in print or electronic format, including but not limited to: correspondences between you and Judge Sullivan, as well as all correspondences and records of your communications with law enforcement, including the Attorney General's Office, related to your communication with Judge Sullivan

RSA 91-A: 1 states, "Openness in the conduct of public business is essential to a democratic society. The purpose of this chapter is to ensure both the greatest possible public access to the actions, discussions and records of all public bodies, and their accountability to the people."


The statute requires your response within five (5) days of receipt of this letter.  If my request is denied in whole or part, you are required to respond in writing and state the specific exception that allows you to deny this request.

Attorney General Delaney:


            It has come to our attention that your Office recently concluded an investigation into the facts surrounding Executive Councilor Christopher Sununu's submission of a letter on behalf of Patrick McDougal to Judge Michael Sullivan. 


Pursuant to RSA 91-A, I hereby request a copy of the entire file related to the matter of Councilor Sununu's contact with Judge Sullivan.
