Recycle Your Cycle

Recycled Cycles is a pilot project created to give female offenders a chance at education and economic success, while increasing the awareness of the healthy benefits of cycling. Goodwill and the Central NH Bicycling Coalition are teaming up to recycle bicycles that provide low cost transportation to the Concord community - and a job training opportunity for female offenders in New Hampshire. You can help by donating bikes that you no longer use at: S&W Sports, 296 South Main Street or the Goodwill Store, 204 Loudon Road, Concord. Got old bikes? Head to the Swap on May 18 -19, S&W Sports - All proceeds from the annual bike swap will support the program. If you have questions, call Kelly Paquette, at 603.369.3010, or visit, www.goodwillnne.org

No Slots -- A Moral Issue

Video Slot Casinos are the most insidious. In their design and manner of operation they are the most addictive. The money they uneasily promise is seductive in difficult times.

The Council of Churches is working to bring this issue into the public conversation as a moral issue. It is important that we contact our legislators who report only hear this "from one side" i.e. "We need the money.") To raise the question of what this form of gambling will do to our citizens, families and communities we encourage you to pass the word and to call yourselves so that our representatives will know where we stand as people of faith. The House is poised to vote on SB152 this month. Visit, http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/house/members/housemembers.html to find your representative.
