Concord - Poking yet another hole in the rapidly shrinking list of NHGOP talking points, the nonpartisan New Hampshire Fiscal Policy institute posted a letter from United States Department of Health and Human Services clearly stating that New Hampshire has the ability to opt in and out of Medicaid Expansion at any time.
"Should New Hampshire choose to expand Medicaid coverage the state may drop that expanded coverage at any time, without financial penalty from the federal government," reads the letter. It clearly debunks the phony Republican claim that once opted in New Hampshire will be unable to opt out from expansion.
The only question facing New Hampshire now is will Republicans let their Tea Party ideology block expanded insurance coverage for 58,000 working New Hampshire citizens, stand in the way of the creation of 700 new jobs, and hold up a $2.5 billion dollar investment in the state economy? Delaying expansion for even one year, would cost New Hampshire $340 million in irreplaceable funds.
