Concord - New Hampshire Republican State Committee Chairman Jennifer Horn released the following statement today on Governor Hassan's dishonest campaign email on the state budget. The Patch (6/13/13) reported that the governor is trying to raise money off of her failed fiscal leadership. Hassan's email urgently claims that the "clock is ticking", yet she wasted two days this week at a conference in Chicago instead of working to balance the budget in New Hampshire:

"Governor Hassan isn't helping to pass a budget because she is still focused on blaming others for the embarrassing defeat of her fiscal plan. Since the Democrat-controlled House rejected the governor's irresponsible proposal, she has failed to announce any new ideas to address the serious fiscal challenges facing New Hampshire."

"Instead of focusing on balancing our books, Governor Hassan spent two days in Chicago this week and refused to engage in the budget process. If the governor truly feels that 'clock is ticking,' she should have stayed in New Hampshire and done her job.

"Now Governor Hassan is wasting time fundraising for her campaign coffers off of the consequences of her failed fiscal leadership. Hassan continues to prove to New Hampshire that she is in over her head and unable to effectively govern our state."
