Manchester, NH – Meet the incoming and outgoing Artists-in-Residence (AIR) at Studio 550. The premise of the program is simple. There are four competitive juried Artists-in-Residence positions at Studio 550. The program is designed to provide professional or emerging artists the next step in their career. In addition to receiving space and equipment necessary to create their work. Artists also have the opportunity to teach classes at Studio 550, gain gallery curating experience, and also be a part of the diverse community of students at the art center. Artists usually change over every twelve months, but they are welcome to stay for only a few months (a short term resident artist) or they can renew for up to three years. Artists tend to be BFA or MFA graduates.
Studio 550 invites the community to meet these young professional artists. There will be a free gallery reception on September 7th from 6-8PM of the work of the outgoing residents’ work as well as the incoming residents’ work. The work will be on display from August 15-September 30. There will also be an informal gallery slide talk given by each of the artists. Discussion is welcome and the community is invited to attend for any or all of the evening’s festivities.
The artists represented will be Annie Campbell, Kaitlyn Coppola, Molly Bernstein, Ryan Mitchel, Christina Pitsch, and Adrian Wallace.
