TIFFANY EDDY has been part of the media fabric in New Hampshire for over fourteen years. She previously anchored WMUR News 9 tonight at 11:00 and WMUR News 9 at 10:00 on MeTV. In addition to her anchoring assignments, Eddy spent over a decade crisscrossing the state as a reporter and co-host for the magazine program “New Hampshire Chronicle,” where she produced hundreds of pieces on standout Granite State businesses and citizens. She has earned her station the prestigious Edward R. Murrow Award, is a three-time Emmy nominee, and the winner of numerous Granite Mic awards from the New Hampshire Association of Broadcasters. Eddy is now the founder of her own public relations firm, FocusFirst Communications, which specializes in streamlined messaging, media relations, and professional development.
MAGGIE HASSAN was sworn in as the 81st Governor of New Hampshire on January 3, 2013. Governor Hassan’s first priorities are supporting the efforts of businesses to create jobs and balancing the budget. She worked to bring people together from both parties to develop a fiscally responsible, balanced budget that protects New Hampshire’s priorities, without an income or sales tax. She has also worked to implement her “Innovate NH” jobs plan, which focuses on building the best workforce in the country, providing tax credits to businesses, and providing businesses with technical assistance to help them create jobs.
JENNIFER M. GRANHOLM was elected governor of Michigan in 2002, and in 2006, she was re-elected with the largest number of votes ever cast for governor in Michigan. As governor, Granholm led the state through a brutal economic downturn that resulted from a meltdown in the automotive and manufacturing sectors. She worked relentlessly to diversify the state’s economy, strengthen its auto industry, preserve the advanced manufacturing sector, and add new, emerging sectors, such as clean energy, to Michigan’s economic portfolio. After leaving office, Granholm hosted Current TV’s national political analysis show “The War Room with Jennifer Granholm” and co-authored the Washington Post political bestseller, A Governor’s Story: The Fight for Jobs and America’s Economic Future. She currently teaches courses in law and public policy at UC Berkeley, is a columnist at Politico, and serves on the board of directors for Marinette Marine Corporation and Talmer Bancorp.
STEPHANIE SCHRIOCK is President of EMILY’s List. Since she was named president of EMILY's List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, the organization’s membership has grown to over 2,000,000, and raised a record breaking $52 million last cycle. A native of Montana, Schriock has managed some of the toughest political races in the country, including United States Senator Jon Tester (D-Montana) and the closely watched campaign and recount effort of Senator Al Franken. As the National Finance Director for Howard Dean’s 2004 campaign for President, Schriock built and led the team that revolutionized online political fundraising. Schriock graduated from Mankato State University.
JEANNE SHAHEEN is the senior U.S. Senator from New Hampshire. EMILY’s List has supported Senator Jeanne Shaheen since her 2000 run for governor of New Hampshire. Upon her 2008 election to the United States Senate, Shaheen made history by becoming the first and only woman in U.S. history to be elected governor and to the Senate, and was also the first woman to represent New Hampshire in the Senate. Shaheen introduced the pivotal Shaheen Amendment to the 2013 National Defense Authorization Act, which provides servicewomen who were victims of rape or incest insurance coverage for safe and legal abortions. This fall the senate is scheduled to vote on her energy efficiency legislation, the first major energy bill to come to the senate floor since 2007, which if signed into law would create thousands of jobs and protect our environment from harmful emissions that contribute to climate change. In the Senate she has also championed equal pay for women in the workplace and played a key role in the re-authorization of the Violence Against Women Act earlier this year.
ABOUT EMILY’s LIST
EMILY’s List, the nation’s largest resource for women in politics, has raised over $350 million to support pro-choice Democratic women candidates – making it one of the most successful political action committees in the country. Throughout its 28 year history, the organization has recruited and trained over 8,000 women to run, worked to elect 101 pro-choice Democratic women to the House, 19 to the Senate, 10 governors, and over five hundred women to state and local office. Since its founding in 1985, EMILY’s List helped elect 97% of the Democratic women of color in Congress, including every single Latina, African American, and Asian American Democratic woman currently serving. And during the 2011-2012 cycle, EMILY’s List had the largest number of members and donors in its history and raised a record-breaking $52 million dollars. With the help of this growing community — now more than two million members strong — EMILY’s List helped elect an historic number of candidates in 2012 including 19 new women to the House, six Senate incumbents, three new Senators, and 186 state and local officials.
