Union Leader Editorial
"Exchanged: NH's shrinking insurance choices"

On Thursday, the New Hampshire Union Leader's editorial page featured an opinion piece on how, "here in New Hampshire, Obamacare continues to shrink the number of healthcare options - and it is not fully implemented yet." If you haven't read it yet, we suggest it as a 'must read.'

The editorial goes on to articulate the decision that was announced this week from Anthem Blue Cross/Blue Shield that the insurance plans it offers in New Hampshire's Obamacare "exchange" will cover treatment at only 14 of New Hampshire's 26 hospitals. Even hospitals in major cities such as Portsmouth and Concord will not be included.

Sen. Scott Brown to speak at an event for Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire in Portsmouth

As reported in, former U.S. Sen. Scott Brown will visit Portsmouth this fall for a special fund-raiser event at the home of Dan and Renee Plummer.

"Brown, the former Republican senator from Massachusetts, will appear at the Plummer's home in downtown Portsmouth for a fund-raiser for conservative advocacy group Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire.

"Renee Plummer, vice president of marketing at Two International Group, said the event will be held in concert with the New England Patriots' game. She said it will also involve young professionals being given the opportunity to learn from leaders such as Brown about what it takes to be a valuable part of their community.

"Plummer, a known conservative supporter, said she looks forward to hosting Brown as well as other local business leaders."

The Hill also reported on Scott Brown's upcoming appearance for Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire, too.
