NH DHHS - Military-Civilian Leaders Respond to PTSD and TBI Report

Commission Releases Comprehensive 2-year Study

Concord, NH - After a 2 year study, the NH Legislative Commission on

post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and traumatic brain injury (TBI) will

release its’ Commission Report on Thursday, Jan 16, 2014 at 2:30 PM in

rooms 210 & 211 of the Legislative Office Building in Concord. The report

includes survey data, proposed legislation, veteran mapping and healthcare

recommendations. Commission members will provide highlights of the report,

including war decorated Iraqi veteran Nicholas Tolentino and TSgt Nicole

Costigan of the Critical Care Transport Team, NH Air National Guard. Dr.

Nicole Sawyer of the NH Psychological Association and Suellen Griffin of

the NH Community Behavioral Health Association will introduce the role &

responsibility of civilian agencies in serving the military. State Trooper

Seth Gahr will highlight an example of how the NH State Police can improve

and simplify access of care for our military.

NH’s military and civilian leaders will attend and provide a critique of

the report and offer recommendations. Speakers will include:

· Nicholas Toumpas, Commissioner, NH Department of Health and Human
