Tuesday saw Rep. Carol Shea-Porter (or her staff at least) given an award she never wanted, a reminder that she helped sell President Obama's "if you like your plan, you can keep it" promise on Obamacare, since dubbed the 2013 "Lie of the Year."
Staffers from Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire presented the award to members of the Democrat's staff at a congressional office in Manchester.
Of course, she wasn't available for comment, but her communications team did find time to photograph those present.
Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire was subsequently blasted in a series of tweets by Ben Wakana, who serves as Shea-Porter's press secretary.
The group expressed concern at the overtly political nature of their content, sent by a congressional staffer paid with taxpayer dollars, one of which speculated the protests were "prob bc their former employer has all the $355k bank accounts one needs."
A screenshot of the tweet, and response from Citizens for a Strong New Hampshire's Derek Dufresne, is below:
At Shea-Porter's much scrutinized "townhall" in Dover earlier this month, the group first tried to present her the award, only to be rebuffed from the premises.
