Public-Private Partnership helps unemployed Granite Staters start their own businesses
Concord, NH – Sen. David Boutin (R-Hooksett) today applauded Citizens Bank for participating in the Pathway to Work Program. Boutin was an original co-sponsor of SB 143, which created the Pathway to Work Program last year. Pathway to Work allows people receiving unemployment benefits to concentrate on starting a new business rather than searching for another job.
“Starting a business is a full-time job, and Pathway to Work encourages unemployed Granite Staters to do just that,” Boutin said. “I’m thrilled that Citizens Bank will be providing training and assistance for these potential business owners.”
Boutin is a proponent of public-private partnerships as a way to increase the effectiveness of government programs. He is the lead sponsor of SB 223, which encourages public-private partnerships to improve municipal sewer systems.
“By bringing government and business together, we can deliver better service to the taxpayers of New Hampshire,” Boutin added. “With the participation of Citizens Bank, the Pathway to Work Program can help more New Hampshire workers get off unemployment by starting their own businesses.”
