NHDP - NH Women Highlight New Report on State's Gender Wage Gap

Condemn Brown’s Comment That Equal Pay Is Not “Issue People Care About”

Manchester, NH—Following the New Hampshire Women’s Institute’s new report on the gender wage gap in New Hampshire and Scott Brown’s insensitive comments on equal pay and access to contraception, women leaders will hold a press conference, TOMORROW, October 2nd at 11:30am, highlighting the findings and Brown’s record.
The New Hampshire Women’s Initiative study concluded that the gender wage gap is higher in New Hampshire than the national average. On the same day, it was reported that Scott Brown took to Fox News to assert that equal pay and birth control coverage are not “issues that people care about.” As a Senator from Massachusetts, Brown repeatedly voted against the Paycheck Fairness Act, which would give women additional legal protections to combat gender-based wage discrimination.
